Located 26km from Mudgee, Bowdens Silver operates a sheep & cattle operation over approximately 4,500 acres. Focused on producing quality fine wool, and turning off prime yearling steers, Bowdens Silver is committed to ethical and sustainable farming practices and providing growth opportunities for employees.
Reporting to the Farm Manager, candidates should have a minimum of 12 months in a similar role.
What the role involves
- All aspects of animal husbandry, including mustering & routine stock assessments.
- Performing general shed duties during shearing & crutching operations.
- Weed & feral animal control programs.
- General machinery maintenance & operation.
- General fencing duties including repairs and new installations.
- Ad hoc duties as required.
What you will need
- Driver’s licence and ability to drive a manual vehicle.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the physical aspects of the role, self-motivation, self-reliance, and a strong work ethic.
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
- Have a high level of work presentation and organisation.
- Possess a chemical handling certificate, AFQ3 or above.
- Display competency in working & handling livestock.
- Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical that includes drug and alcohol testing.
- Working dogs will be looked on favourably, but not essential.
