Payroll Specialist

Sun Metals Corporation Pty Ltd is the operator of Queensland’s biggest zinc refinery, located 15km south of the city of Townsville in North Queensland, Australia. A wholly owned subsidiary of Korea Zinc Company Limited, our mission is to be the best zinc refinery in the world through safety, environmental responsibility and competitiveness. We employ over 350 staff and contractors, primarily from the local community, and contribute strongly to the local economy.

Role Description

This is a full-time payroll specialist role with a hybrid position located in either Townsville or Brisbane, QLD. The primary responsibilities include payroll processing, garnishments, payroll services, and payroll taxes.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in payroll administration, including payroll processing, payroll taxes, and garnishments
• Excellent understanding of and ability to apply relevant federal and local payroll regulations and laws
• Experience with payroll software and strong understanding of payroll systems
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field will be higky regarded
