Outstanding opportunity to join a leading Accounting and Advisory business based in Brisbane CBD. We are seeking someone with a strong knowledge in business services taxation and who possesses exceptional communication skills to work closely with two of the Partners and their clients.
Your responsibilities will include: - Supporting the partners to provide quality accounting, taxation and advisory services to clients (small to medium sized businesses, high-wealth individuals + SMSFs)
- Accounting and Taxation services include bookkeeping and journal entries (Xero), preparation of financial statements, activity statements (IAS + BAS), income tax returns (all entities), minutes (e.g. Trust distributions, dividends), SMSF administration
- Provision of Advisory services including judgment decisions in relation to tax planning matters (e.g. Trust distributions, dividends), preparation of management reporting including financial commentary and dividend recommendations, preparation of budgets, analysis of client's trading results and profitability, year-end profit + tax projections, PAYG instalment variations, structural reviews + entity setups, and assisting clients with their enquiries/questions
- Delegation to junior accountants and bookkeeping team in respect of these services, including managing workflow, review & monitoring of delegated tasks, providing training & assistance where required.
- Maintaining client relationships, facilitating communication via email, phone discussions and face-face meetings.
To be successful in this critical role you will bring the following skills and experience: - Bachelor's degree in Commerce or Business (Accounting)
- CPA or CA certification (or working towards)
- 4+ years of experience in public practice accounting
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Consistent ability to meet deadlines with limited supervision from management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain difficult tax concepts in a simple manner to clients so that they understand
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Continuous improvement mindset and the drive to enhance the end-to-end process
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Have the ability to analyse information and figures to formulate a solution/advanced problem solving skills
- Passion for helping clients
