It is particularly suited for those under-utilised in the labour market, including young people, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, mature-age job seekers, women re-entering the workforce, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. You may be eligible for fee-free training under the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program.
Core units cover: Planning and implementing learning goals and strategies, reading and comprehending routine English texts, producing written work for different purposes and audiences, using speaking and listening skills for oral communication, performing mathematical calculations in everyday contexts, collecting and analysing mathematical data, measuring and estimating in everyday life, applying mathematical and problem-solving strategies to time-based tasks, and identifying angles and drawing 2D and 3D shapes. Elective units include: using business software applications, contributing to health and safety, using digital technology for workplace tasks, using calculator functions, applying arithmetical calculations, using ratios and rates, and using formulas and algebraic expressions.
