Master professional make-up artistry techniques including airbrushed applications, lash services, and creative designs. This hands-on Certificate III prepares you for careers in beauty, fashion, media and entertainment industries.
Entry to this course is open to all applicants. You will need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to enrol. It is recommended that you have Australian Core Skills Framework levels of at least 2 across reading, writing, learning, oral communication and numeracy skills. If you do not meet these requirements, you can still enrol and seek support, or begin with a lower level course such as Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways.
The course comprises 15 subjects: 8 core units and 7 electives. Core units include: Design and apply make-up, Design and apply make-up for photography, Design and apply creative make-up, Maintain ethical and professional standards when using social media, Comply with organisational requirements in personal services, Apply safe hygiene and work practices, Provide salon services to clients, and Research and apply beauty industry information. Elective units cover remedial camouflage make-up, work collaboratively on make-up productions, apply cosmetic tanning products, conduct salon financial transactions, provide lash and brow services, maintain infection control standards, greet and prepare clients, dry hair to shape, sell to retail customers, and use social media and online tools.

Career opportunities include positions in make-up studios, retail cosmetic counters, fashion and media sets, film and television productions, photographic studios, theatrical productions, and as freelance make-up artists. Upon completion, you may continue your studies in Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy and Diploma of Beauty Therapy.
