Although there are no formal entry requirements, this course is designed for professionals with workplace experience (five years or more recommended). It is advantageous if you have completed a Certificate III in Business or have relevant work experience in a business environment. You must have Australian Core Skills Framework literacy levels of at least 3 across reading, writing, learning, and oral communication. A Unique Student Identifier (USI) is required to enrol in any accredited course at CIT.
The diploma comprises 12 subjects: 6 core units and 5 electives plus 1 additional elective. Core subjects include Manage Team Effectiveness, Develop and Use Emotional Intelligence, Lead and Manage Effective Workplace Relationships, Communicate with Influence, Develop Critical Thinking in Others, and Manage Business Operational Plans. Elective options include Lead Communication in the Workplace, Manage Business Resources, Manage Business Risk, Develop Workplace Policies and Procedures for Sustainability, Lead Diversity and Inclusion, and Manage Recruitment and Onboarding. Each subject is delivered through a combination of face-to-face evening classes and online learning with optional drop-in sessions.
