A practical leadership development workshop for aged care professionals at levels 2-3 of the Australian Aged Care Leadership Capability Framework. Learn to understand your leadership style, adapt your communication approach, and build stronger team dynamics through interactive training and practical tools.
This module is specifically designed for current and aspiring leaders at levels 2 and 3 of the Australian Aged Care Leadership Capability Framework. Level 3 includes front-line or first-line managers such as care coordinators, service coordinators, registered nurses, or team managers. Level 2 includes mid-level leaders or middle management responsible for multiple teams or entire services, such as directors of nursing, care managers, facility managers, or quality managers. Level 1 leaders may also find this a valuable refresher. Participants require access to an individual device to participate in the online workshop.
Module 1 – Leading with Style covers: Understanding personality and behaviour patterns and their impact on communication; Recognizing and honouring your natural leadership style; Playing to your strengths while adapting to other styles; Responding effectively to complaints and misunderstandings; Creating pathways for team success; Supporting and encouraging developing leaders; Managing up and managing sideways; Working effectively with colleagues with alternate leadership styles; Boosting leadership capacity and elevating career growth. The module is mapped against the Australian Aged Care Leadership Capability Framework and provides practical tips, tools, and tactical communication skills applicable to residential aged care, home and community care, and retirement living settings.
