The Diploma of Art and Design is your first step toward a career in the creative industries, preparing you for entry into the second year of a related Monash University degree.
To be accepted into the Diploma of Art and Design, you must meet the minimum age, academic, and English language requirements. This includes successful completion of Australian Year 11 (or equivalent) with a credit average for Part 1, or Australian Year 12 (or equivalent) with an ATAR of 60 for direct entry into Part 2.
In Part 1, you'll focus on building fundamental creative and technical skills while beginning to develop your personal folio. In Part 2, you'll choose to specialize in either Architectural Design or Design, studying the same curriculum and completing equivalent assessments as first-year undergraduate students at Monash University.
